It has to be easily transported and flexible with the amount of “rooms”. Starting from the idea of a container park, we kept the quality of the simple transportation and created smaller units, which include sleeping and storage facilities. We choose the triangle as the main shape of our construction, because it can be easily fit on one to each other.
In this way we save space and build a stable construction for another level. The second level is a bit shifted in comparison to the first level, so it creates a walkway to reach the rooms of the second floor and to build a roofed area on the ground floor. The Units We designed three different types of units.
The first one is a double bed unit, with storage place in the top and the sides of the triangle. The second unit is a single bed unit, that you reach over two stairs.
You can store your stuff in the place under the bed. The last unit includes a breezeway which allows you to cross the structure. It also includes some lockers and a bench. The Construction Our construction is composed by triangular metal frames. In every corner of the triangle they are connected to a steel profile that ends in another triangular frame.
Each profile has four round protuberances and four round indentations. That’s how the units can be attached to each other. As walls we use wooden panels that are attached to the metal frame.
In the top corner of the triangle we place a steel sheet to connect the wood to the metal and protect the inside area from rain water as well. The front is covered with a plastic fabric that can be easily opened as this is the entrance /“door” of the unit. The back wall is made of another wooden panel.
There are two staircases, one on each end of the construction. A metal ladder leads to the walkway of the second level. The ladder is attached to the metal profile and is leaning against the wooden wall of the ground floor unit. The whole construction is based on a system of metal rods.
They are connected with the same round protuberances and round indentations like the units. The units can be lifted in a convenient way, they have metal hooks that are attached to the metal frame. This way they can be picked up and put on a truck for a fast and easy transportation.

The word foreigner get evolved in two important meanings, the negative one, which is the unknown and sometimes dangerous foreign and the positive, which is the meaning of the visitor from another country or town. Later, the word was used as cognate word referred to those who professionally provided hospitality to strangers, like hotels and afterward in hospital acquired special use. The approach of the proposal is to unite the above properties, namely the properties of hotels and hospitals-institutions. It is a building intended to people who suffering from mental and personality disorders. The design of the building is based on a resolution of investigation on the mental disorder; obsessive–compulsive OCD. Standards and rigorous program, geometry and a series of rigid are some of the characteristics of OCD patients which influence to the proposal design. The Rooms of the hotel are adapted to the needs of these people and not only of OCD patients but also to the autistic and patients who suffering from bipolar disorder.
Rooms, which are developed in the area have the aim to serving the needs of patients. Reception for people who have the purpose to enter into the hotel-institution, necessary diagnostic rooms where the problem can be defined, reception areas for visitors, public kitchens and restrooms, are some of the areas of the complex. Also entertainment spaces are take place in the site, such as theater in the central area of the site, shops and gallery are also included in the additional program.
The proposed hotel is in conflict with the hospital, connect areas of creating a different approach to the construction of two buildings at a total proposal. In order to balance the coldness of the hospital and the professional approach to the provision of abidance from the hotel, by the real definition of hospitality. Imagine for a minuteyou can have a hotel that covers multiple locations, quickly responds to different market demands and being self-sustainable at the same time! And all this for a lower price then a traditional hotel building. One room hotel is a concept, combining self-sustainable units spread alone the planet into one network.
The Unit represent rather a room, space for sleeping, then a traditional building. This approach have many advantages. The unit pre-assembled, can be customized for the particular climate condition, target user and envelope designed with consideration for the surroundings.
The units uses a various technologies, like solar panels installed on the rooftop. Water refiled from a lakes and rivers, if available or the rain water tank. We can refer to modular architecture, applicable to the hotel. The unit can be easily installed and removed, when required, without visible impact on environment. In this way the network doesn’t need huge construction investments, the production and customization of a unit will cost less than a traditional building construction. “The hotel” can start even with one unit and develop in time with available resources.
The unit can be moved to a new place, with a change of demand or under any other circumstances and reused in another place. In today situation where every meter valuable in the city centers, makes it difficult to obtain a good location for building construction. Moreover, with a high competition between already existing hotel brands to enter a market even a harder task.
“One room hotel “concept allows to taste the waters in the business without major risks, monitor the market demand without big loses. The “rooms” can be located on already existing buildings or open spaces, waterfronts, rooftops. On the contrary, there is available space on the nature sites, outside of the big cities. Forests, mountains, lakes fields spreads on the thousand kilometers. In this case, it is important to consider environmental impact of construction, as well as customer demand of a hotel in particular place. The place might not have enough demand for building an entire multi story hotel.
The one room hotel network will help to cover this segment of a market as well. For example, It can be used to create a serious of “guest houses” along the trekking path or a family camping site in the forest. The “rooms” doesn’t need a constant presence of the staff, reception desk. It is safes a waiting time and make the experience more personal. The customer simply have to receive a QR code, after booking on his smartphone and use it to open the door.

The Urban Street Furniture S.U.S. Envisages an urban street furniture network in cities rather than being a single consolidated construction. Its main component is a sleeping pod, which reinterprets the concept of sleeping in a hotel bed, and is intended for use by visitors and locals. Inspired by collapsible origami forms as well as Autobots (from “Transformers”) that blend into the urban context, altering into multiple shapes whenever required, the unobtrusive pod occupies a minimal area. It can therefore be easily placed at multiple locations within interstitial spaces in existing urban streetscapes.
Personal Space – to sleep in or rest, while experiencing the urban environment Spread over different parts of the cities – like public plazas or sidewalks – S.U.S.’s global network offers individual clients the possibility of choosing – based on the preferred geographic location and urban setting of the pod as well as its envisaged “renting” period and corresponding availability – their compact personal space to suit different sleeping/resting needs.
