Alternatively, in Windows 7 and Windows 10, you can navigate to Start menu, All programs and Accessories. And then right-click on the Command Prompt and click Run as administrator. Click Yes button when you see the UAC prompt. NOTE: It’s important to open the Command Prompt as admin in order to launch MSI files as administrator. Hi Robert, A few things to check out. 1.) Is UAC turned off? Just do a local search for UAC and it will bring you to where you need to be to change the settings.

Hi Chuckside- I searched the Sprint Support side as you probably have and found no joy for this error searching it many ways. Searching the error in general, I have seen answers to Sprint card users that say: 'This is an issue with that being the 10.0 InstallScript engine merge module being installed. We are planning on issuing an update in the near future that will provide the new merge module that should fix this. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.'

That answer for a Sprint card user was given at the bottom of the link and for other hits for this error. My attitude is that if a Sprint card can't be used because it now evokes that kind of an error, and if there is in truth no current fix, I'd switch to another carrier or card if it would work. Yet thousands of people are walking around with Sprint cards. If there is a way to run the installation 'as admin' where you confront an executable that can be right clicked to 'run as admin' try that. Does anyone know why this is happening? Can you tell me how to get these ISKernel files? Please help! I see posts on this topic dating back to 6/18/2006 and do not see a resolution listed.

I am experiencing the same problem with my sprint wireless aircard and would like to know if anyone has solved it yet. I called sprint and they told me that the connection manager installer should work with vista. I already exchanged one laptop thinking I might have had a defective one but the issue still remains. Can anyone help me? Does anyone know why this is happening? Can you tell me how to get these ISKernel files? Please help! Are you attempting to install connection manager as an administrator? It should try to do that automatically but may not be. Download the installation program, save it to disk then RIGHT click on it and choose 'run as administrator' Joe 'intmd8or' wrote in message news E872A31-AE30-493B-8263-CAF5038E6E0E@microsoft.com.
